Fundamentals of Positive Education

This 21-hour training programme introduces educators to the foundational knowledge of positive psychology and its application within schools for students to thrive in social and emotional learning (SEL) competencies. Educators will learn a variety of wellbeing strategies to help students:

No ready-made lesson plans will be provided because we believe that educators have the ability to translate positive education knowledge and skills acquired from this course to create and customise well-being lessons that meet the needs of their students. 

No. The programme focuses on exploring evidence-based positive mental health interventions and strategies to enhance the wellbeing of students. Hence, we do not cover any content related to identifying mental health problems or supporting students with self-harm behaviours.

We provide a wide range of strategies that are able to support students’ wellbeing in mainly secondary and tertiary education students aged 12 and above. Other teachers may also acquire positive education knowledge and skills from this course to create and customise own well-being lessons that meet the needs of their students.

No. The purpose of designing this assessment is for teachers to reflect on their learning experiences and how these learnings will positively impact their teaching and learning practices.

Participants will be given 1 week (extension on a case by case basis) to complete the assessment after completing all the training sessions. Upon submission, there will be a 1-to-1 phone/zoom call (approximately 15 minutes) to provide feedback on the wellbeing lesson plan you have created.

Yes, you can! If you attend workshops individually, you will receive a Certificate of Participation for the particular workshop you have attended. Once you have completed all the workshops, you will receive a Certificate of Completion for Fundamentals of Positive Education.
